The National Corn Growers Association denounced a decision by the Commerce Department on Wednesday to support new duties on UAN imports from Russia and Trinidad and Tobago. The move comes as UAN and other nitrogen fertilizers are hitting all-time-high prices.
March corn is up 6 cents per bushel, January soybeans are up 5 3/4 cents, and March KC wheat is up 13 3/4 cents.
The cattle complex regained some ground but not as much as one would have anticipated given the resolve of feedlots to hold out for higher cash this week. Hogs were higher in nearby months as a result of cash strength.
